Designated Health Veterinary (M/F)

Related to the Animals and Biologic Compliance Department, your main tasks will be:
To assume the responsibility of a designated veterinarian in 2 establishments that use animals for scientific purposes in the Ile de France (one-off trips on the Loiret). Competent in laboratory science and animals, rodents, pigs, fish (zebrafish), the veterinarian will be responsible for the care and monitoring of animals used for scientific purposes.
He/she will act as an advisor to the Animal Welfare Structure (SBEA) and the Ethics Committee in Animal Experimentation (C2EA)
He/she will advise researchers in the design phases of scientific projects 
It will ensure compliance with the application of the 3R rule

Mains activities:
- Ensuring animal welfare
- Participate in the design of scientific projects by bringing expertise to researchers in the development and improvement of experimental model
- Train and advise animal care workers and experimenters on anesthesia, analgesia, surgery, euthanasia and animal follow-up techniques; provide tutoring on these techniques
- Coaching the tutoring of newcomers (specific workshops + training)
- Actively participate in SBEA and C2EA; participate and ensure the implementation of their recommendations
- To be responsible for the health policy of the two institutions
- Participate in internal audits
- Ensure technological and scientific monitoring of the use of animals in research and 3R

Desired Profile:
Veterinary doctor with specialization or in-depth knowledge of laboratory animal science and medicine (rodents, zebrafish, pigs)
In-depth knowledge of zootechnics and pharmacology
In-depth knowledge of the regulatory environment of animal use establishments, hygiene/sanitary and safety rules
Mastery of ethical principles

Experience : 
Similar experience for 3 years minimum

Academical background :
- veterinary doctor's degree
- Specific regulatory training designed to design experimental procedures
- Holding a Veterinary Specialized Studies Diploma (DESV) or a Certificate of Veterinary In-depth Studies (CEAV) will be a plus.
